Garden Border Redesign in Leicestershire
Project Description
A circular courtyard garden in Lutterworth
I loved the garden behind my clients’ home, when I first visited to discuss their plans. I initially met them for a consultation to discuss ideas, but it turned into a full design project, with the clients wanting to redevelop a small section midway down their garden that was enclosed by lovely brick walls.
This part of the garden was where the owners would go and sit on a summer evening, but the area had become a bit chaotic, and there wasn’t enough of a seating area. I devised a design that worked around some very strong geometric circles, that slowed your pace through the garden, and created a weaving pathway towards a large central pergola with slate paving beneath.
Some of the owners’ plants were saved and redistributed, along with some new plants, including a rhythmic planting of box balls to echo the circular design. The clients were thrilled with their garden and are looking toward to enjoying sitting among their new plants in the sunshine.
