A cottage garden for a modern townhouse
Project Description
Garden Border Redesign in Leicestershire
Cooper-Hayes Garden Design were employed to rejuvenate and replant a number of borders of a house in Great Glen, Leicestershire. The clients enjoyed gardening and were knowledgable, but felt that they had run out of ideas for what to do.
After an initial consultation where I gave some creative input, I was asked to go ahead and do the landscaping work for them. A planting scheme was created to suit the various areas of the garden, some of which were very sunny and open, others more shady and lush.
We reshaped borders, lifted and divided existing favourites, added more evergreen plants for winter interest, as well as some bold floral summer planting including rudbeckia and heleniums, alongside daintier plants such as coreopsis. A large border of lavender runs alongside the house where they can bask in the sun, while down the side alley we have introduced larger leaved plants such as hostas, ferns, heuchera and tellima.
